Skyhook Wireless and mmatcher, connecting people with Android
Making meaningful connections with the people around you is about to get a whole lot easier, thanks to a new partnership between leading WiFi-positioning provider Skyhook Wireless, and social networking service mmatcher. The two companies have teamed up on an Android app called mmatcher, which is available for download for free today, in the Android market.

mmatcher connects people with the same interests, buyers with sellers, and people who need services with people who offer services. For example, mmatcher can hook up two people who want to play tennis, business people attending conferences on similar topics, or someone repairing appliances with people who need this service. mmatcher will use Skyhook to determine precise user location, allowing users to better connect with people in their neighborhoods.

Will do. I’ve contacted mmatcher about a QR code for their app because people are having trouble finding it in the Market. This can be resolved pretty quickly, so let’s hope they respond!
