Droid is a Series Not Just a Motorola Phone
OK SO BOMBSHELL: It has been leaked by the guys over at Engadget, and they have uncovered details that the Motorola Sholes (Droid) may only be a nickname and the “Droid” is a series of phone’s coming from Verizon rather than 1 particular handset from Motorloa …. hot on the heels of the Sholes should be a handset named the Droid Eris (HTC Desire), Big Red has kept this quiet enough. Its funny that for several weeks now we have been reffering to the Sholes as simply the “Droid” when in actual fact it is a sub brand and not exclusive to Motorola either. The HTC Desire is expected to hit the market as the “Droid Eris” and will be released on November 6th, and yet again this might be what we have been reporting as the release date for the Sholes … who knows? and October 28th will just be firmly for the Sholes and the Sholes alone, anyway this is big news and shows how Verizon is commited to Android, good news all round i suppose.
