Sprint TV App Now on the T-Mobile Network (Ported)

Well it looks like a few lucky users have been able to get Sprint TV working on their G1’s & Mytouch Android devices. As you can see in the video below we have the app working perfectly fine on a Mytouch 3G. The app itself looks very nice, and seems to run pretty damn well on 3G. As far as I know, the app does not allow you to use WIFI to watch videos. Now does this means TV for all? Well, not really first thing is that your need root access and apparently some phones are working while others are getting a channel error.

So we managed to get the app working!!! we’re currently running Cyans 4.1.999 rom, no themes. More info after the break.

Here’s how in steps:

Download the SprintTV.apk and SprintTV-Widget.apk and install both on your phone.

  1. Download sprint.zip, unzip, and install both on your phone.
  2. Find a available home screen to place the widget and place it in portrait mode.
  3. Restart your phone.
  4. Open the Sprint TV app through the widget, not through the app icon, by clicking the widget.
  5. Enjoy your Sprint TV and if it doesn’t work try opening the app through the widget again. If that fails, rinse and repeat.

Keep in mind these are the steps if you already have root access.

Here are some screenshots of the app.

This no longer works on G1 phones. Sprint must have caught on to this eventually. No good TV apps for the G1 now!
