Verizon to Offer Google Voice

Again the guys over at Engadget have come up trumps for this Android thing of ours.
Fresh of the phone to Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam and CEO of Google Eric Schmidt and it seems that they are finding a new relationship blossom as far as the two Company’s go. Over the next 4 week we should see a couple of handsets from Verizon in which we are all excited about, although the two handsets are unknown to us but rumour has it the one of these will be the Motorola Sholes but no indication on what the other one will be so Verizon it seems is still holding the rest of their cards close, very close. What has actually come to our surprise is that they have stated their plan to give its users access to Google Voice and i was surprised only because of Apple’s rejection of it and since calls & texts is a very very big part of any carrier’s revenue. Verizon will be pre-loading these handsets with the application and have stated their should be 10,000 if these available. Stay tuned for the excitement.

They already offer Google Voice. I've had it on my Tour for the longest already

Well yes, lots of Verizon users already have it (myself included), but the statement is that basically they are officially supporting and embracing it on their network – as opposed to Apple/AT&T's blocking it on the iPhone. There really aren't any full details yet, but it's basically an early shot at Apple/AT&T as Verizon moves toward this "Open Network" policy they've been talking about.
