A few months back we reviewed a fantastic application, PhotoBurst (Photo BURST application Review) from developer Androidslide, PhotoBurst has earned its way into the second round of the ADC2 (Android Developers Challenge 2). It’s no surprise Androidslide’s newest app has been doing so well in the ADC2. That’s because Androidslide puts incredible time into fully developing, updating and giving you options with their apps .The first app developed from Androidslide was Camera ZOOM, with tons of ideas, research and recommendations in hand Androidslide has updated Camera ZOOM to Camera ZOOM FX. Camera ZOOM FX has more features than you could even imagine needing but everyone being useful (and fun!).
Camera Zoom FX is a full featured Camera App that is meant to replace the standard Android camera. First and foremost Camera Zoom FX gives Android users a zoom feature for their camera. Next, the App gives you 48 quick and easy to use FX features. The features are as simple as a Normal camera filtered to take black & white pictures and as cool an old film reel frame, all perfect for some quick photo taking. Guess what? That’s not all! Camera Zoom FX users can download packs from the market such as shutter, composite, borders, buddies, prop packs all of which enhance or add features to the Camera Zoom FX application(all Camera ZOOM FX enhancement packs are free of charge on the market). Believe me you can spend a whole day playing with Camera ZOOM FX’s options and features.

Options, options and more options! Camera ZOOM FX gives so many options that it can be overwhelming (in this case it’s a good thing). You have Options from the very beginning; you can choose from a list of 6 the categorized FX options, normalFX, colorFX, mirrorFX, artFX, distortFX and frameFX. In each Fx category you have up to 9 options to choose from. Once you choose option you then can tap the “quick settings” button, then there are more options for you; 3 settings tabs each with 4 more options. The “settings 1” tab allows you to take advantage of the enhancement packs that are available for download from the market. The “settings 2” tab allows you change the filter, anti-banding, White Balance and Night-shot features of the application. The “Settings 3” tab gives you the ability to change the Auto Focus, Stable shot, Timer, and Burst Mode. Do you want more options? Once you are in camera mode tap your “menu” button and select Settings, you can then change Camera, Save, FX, Stable, Voice Activation, Burst Mode and even Custom Button options.

In my opinion Camera Zoom FX is well worth the $2 (approximate cost depending on currency conversion used at time of charge) that you will be charged for the application. Camera ZOOM FX offers so many options that are not offered by other applications on the Market. I am sure you won’t use all of the options and features available to you but the many of them you will. Some features are more fun to play with than others. In other cases some features and options will be more useful. Although the application functions perfectly without the Packs I really appreciate that the Application developer doesn’t charge for the Packs that enhance the capabilities of the application. When I start playing with this application I get so immersed in it that hours can go by playing with it.
With so many features and options it’s easy to find several favorites. I find myself amused with playing with props in my photos. I like to take a lot of photos with the Spectrum and Pencil B/W FX. I would recommend when purchasing Camera ZOOM FX that you take some time to seriously explore the application, find your favorite FX, props and other features to use.
