HTC Dragon/Passion to be “Google Phone” with T-Mobile

T-Mobile hits the rumour mill again, with news that they will be the first US carrier to take on the much recently talked about “Google Phone”. The HTC Dragon/Passion is rumoured to be branding itself the “Google Phone”, and will be the first available in the US to run a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Android 2.1 will hopefully be present or even 2.0 when this makes an appearance some time in January. Take at look at some of the specs:

  • 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 4.3 capacitive multitouch display
  • 512 Mb ROM / 256 Mb RAM
  • 5 MegaPixel Camera with flash
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Android 2.0 or 2.1

    2. HHHH says:

Will they ever realize that users need more memory. Why do they continue to skip on that?

    3. Ja5on says:

Agreed. What's even more strange is that the original Hero had 288MB of RAM, so why would they DECREASE it? I hope they've fixed this and we'll get a nice surprise closer to launch.

      • Don Baron says:

What could you possibly need more RAM for on a mobile app? Faster busses, graphics processing optimizations and opengl support would be way more beneficial. Should just stop asking for more and optimize what we already have, which is plenty.

        • Ja5on says:

I agree with your points but still, why lower the amounts of RAM? Both the 32A Magic and Hero have 288MB of RAM, so the additional memory is already factored in at that price point. So why put less in? Unless some of these phones are going to be even cheaper…
