Acer Liquid: Shortage of the Device as Sales Were More than Expected

CEO of Acer, Gianfranco Lanci declared on Friday Febuary 5th that the Acer Liquid has been a surprise success and therefore have limited units at the moment. He pretty much stated that they expected sales to be between 150,000 – 200,000 but now they plan to sell “at least” 250,000 handsets. Good news as this could prove to be one of Acer’s most popular handsets and to think all their units apart from this one run Windows Mobile. They don’t actually know what has driven sales for this device but I’m guessing it was all the hype around the Snapdragon processor which eventually became underclocked. Rumour has it that Acer has themselves a primary Android lineup of handsets due to the decline in popularity of Windows Mobile smartphones.
